Mrs. Zona Haith Mayhue, 90, of Pinebluff, North Carolina (Addor Community) entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing in Asheboro, North Carolina. 

Zona Mae Haith Mayhue was born on November 25, 1935, to the late Mark C. Haith Sr. and Nezzie Dowdy Haith. She was the third of five children. Her three brothers, Mark Junior, Matthew, and
Donnie Frank preceded her in death.

She attended and graduated from Berkley High School. She later earned a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing and worked in numerous settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and private duty, for over 40 years.

At an early age, Zona became a member of Elizabeth Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to Elvin “Shorty” Mayhue in 1973. During this time, she attended Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church in the Windblow Community of Ellerbe, North Carolina, until her husband died in 1991.

Later, Zona moved back to the Addor Community in Pinebluff, North Carolina, and began attending Elizabeth Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as one of the Church Mothers until her health began to decline. Mother Mayhue was saved and loved the Lord and her family.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Mother Mayhue are, her son, Michael A. Dixon (Linda) of Asheboro, North Carolina; one sister, Doretha Haith of the Addor Community; a sister-in-law, Betty Haith of Aberdeen, NC; a brother-in-law, Leonard Mayhue (Mattie) of Ellerbe, NC; two grandchildren, Michael T. Dixon of Durham, North Carolina and Aretha D. Sutton (James) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; three great grandchildren, James, Donovan, and Gabrielle Sutton of Winston-Salem; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
