Mrs. Yvonne Godwin Covington, 72, of Moore County (formerly Richmond County), North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Yvonne Covington was born on June 12, 1954, in Richmond County, North Carolina, to the late Creola Williams. She departed this life on July 16, 2026.

Yvonne was a member of Oakley Grove FWB Church in Hoffman, North Carolina, which she joined at an early age.

Yvonne loved her family and found so much joy in caring for them. She enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone, always with a huge smile on her face. She also loved listening to music, filling her  home with songs that brought her peace and happiness. She cherished the simple moments spent laughing, talking, and making memories with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzel Covington, her son, Michael Spencer, and also two sisters and two brothers.

Yvonne leaves to cherish fond memories, one daughter, Thomasina Spencer Walker; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Walker; nine step-children; four grandchildren, Treyvonne Spencer (Tahiry and  Tyshaun), Shatequa Spencer, Tyesha Harris (Antonio), and Ta’Shaun Dowdy; four sisters, Althea Cobbs (Luke), Essie McRae (James), Dorothy Rogers (Ralph), and Paulette Collins (Carl); one  uncle, Isaiah Goodwin; a very special niece, Creola Washington; three special cousins, Viola “Sis” Jones, Russell Ingram, and Johnny “Buster” Utley; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family,  and friends.
