Mr. William Elvage Green, 90, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 11, 2021 at his place of residence.
William Elvage Green was born to the late John Wesley Green and Mamie Lucille Cameron on June 26, 1931. William grew up in the Harnett County area, where he also attended school. In 1947, William joined the military and was stationed in Germany. After leaving the Army, he returned to the states and married the love of his life, Mary Lois Adams. To this union, six boys were born.
William led a full and happy life, never allowing his age to hold him back. He was a man of great faith. His favorite word was "Whatever the Lord says."
William began his spiritual walk at Mt. Carmal Pentecostal Assembly in Sanford, North Carolina, under the leadership of Bishop Julia Harris. He later joined in worship with his son, Apostle Joseph Green, at Try Jesus Ministries of Sanford, North Carolina, where he was a Spiritual Father of the Ministry. William was faithful to his ministry and always had an encouraging word for all of his church family. He was known for his smile and "Hey, How You." He was also very well known for his sharp dress code and his small derby hat. William had such a great love for all of his family. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Left to cherish his wonderful memories, his six sons, Charles Green (Sharon) of Cameron, North Carolina, Tyrone Green (Ann), Apostle Joseph Green (Pansy), Christopher Green, William L. Green, and Matthew Green, all of Sanford, North Carolina; his brother, Clyde Green; his sister, Florine Green; nineteen grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a special cousin, Gladys Ray; and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
