William Graham Obituary

Mr. William Anthony Graham, 63, of Southern Pines, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his residence.

In the loving memory of William Anthony Graham, 63, a beloved son of West Southern Pines, who walked in the grace of Jesus Christ, cherished his family with unwavering devotion, and nurtured the bonds of his community—born on October 7, 1960, to Sol Graham and Reaver Graham of West Southern Pines, North Carolina, both loving and faithful parents who preceded him in death. He was called to God’s eternal embrace on October 25, 2023, at home. William Anthony, known to many as Tony, graced this world with his warm and loving presence.

Tony’s journey began at Pinecrest High School and Sandhills Community College, where he laid the foundation for his future. He was not just a man of learning but also determination, earning  is High School Equivalency Certificate from Oconaluftee Job Corps on November 19, 1982. Through hard work and faith, he proved that one could achieve great heights with the Lord’s guidance.

His heart danced joyfully, just as he did on the dance floor, and his smile and laughter were infectious, spreading warmth to everyone he encountered. His love for basketball was more than just a sport; it reflected his commitment and teamwork in life.

But above all, Tony was a man who honored his beloved mother, caring for her with boundless love until the day she joined the Lord. He found solace and strength in their shared faith at  Averys Chapel FWB Church, and it was his final wish to return to the sanctuary he knew so well. In death, he shall eternally rest beside the woman who not only gave him life but also ingrained in him a deep and abiding faith in God.

In the tapestry of life, we find moments both joyful and solemn as we gather to remember a soul now with the Lord in heaven. Tony is also preceded in death by his dear brother, Ansol Everette Graham, Sr. We acknowledge their reunion on the eternal, heavenly side, with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; they now stand hand in hand.

In Tony’s legacy, he leaves behind his precious child, Macey AJ Gaddy of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and a circle of loving family members who deeply mourn his loss: Patricia Tibbs, Solomon Graham, Wesley Graham, Gloria Fairley, Daniel Graham, Marti Moore, Vera Miller, Robert Stafford Graham, Joseph Neal Graham, Nancy Faye Graham, and a host of nieces, nephews,  and cousins. As we mourn, we shall also remember a man who embodied the core values of West Southern Pines:

• Faith in Jesus Christ

• Unwavering love for his family

• A deep commitment to his community

Though he may have left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Let us take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his mother and resting in the Lord’s eternal peace. In his memory, let us cherish the lessons he taught and continue to dance through life with the same joy and laughter that he shared with us all.

Please keep the family and friends of Mr. William Anthony Graham in your thoughts and prayers.
