Mr. Wendell Thomas Issac Brown, 37, of Chesapeake, Virginia (formerly of Southern Pines) entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 23, 2024 in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Wendell Thomas Isaac Brown, age 37, passed away on June 23, 2024, at his residence in Chesapeake, Virginia. Wendell was born on February 6, 1987, to Catherine J. Murphy and Gary Brown Sr.

Wendell passionately loved his family, every community he lived in, and his country. He dreamed big and served hard, as a member of the US Army 82nd Airborne Division, a Master Mason, and a volunteer with various political initiatives and community organizations. He also spent the holidays cutting hair at homeless shelters and helping serve food at food banks.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, grilling, playing sports or card games, music, playing the piano, working out and always wanted to ensure everybody was having a good time. He had an infectious smile; and he always made it a priority to make sure those he loved were doing alright and that he appreciated and was proud of them. He was a licensed barber and a licensed massage therapist.

Wendell is survived by his parents; a son, Jeremiah Murphy Brown; a daughter, Lylah Hazel Brown; his brothers, Michael A. Blackmon Jr. Esq. (Maggie), Gary Wendell Brown Jr., and Joshua  Brown; his maternal grandmother, Thomasina W. Murphy; many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Wendell was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert L. Murphy Sr., his paternal grandmother, Juanita Brown Miller, his paternal grandfather, Leroy Sloan and great-grandmother, Lila Brown Gay.
