Mrs. Virginia Griffis Perkins, 87, of Fayetteville, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Sandy Ridge Memory Care & Assisted Living in Candor, North Carolina.
Virginia G. Perkins, 87, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on November 22, 2025, at Sandy Ridge Memory and Assisted Living in Candor, NC. Mrs. Perkins was born October 9, 1938, in Willow Springs to the late James Worth and Martha Pryor Griffis.
Virginia retired from a career in procurement at Pope Air Force Base, NC. She found joy in music and gardening—two pursuits that brought peace and beauty into her world. A devoted animal lover, she cherished the companionship of her pets throughout the years.
Virginia lovingly remembered by her son, James W. Ray, of Aiken, SC; daughters, Janie Ray Carroll (Jeff) of Troy, NC and Wanda Ray Eubanks (Warren) of Clarks Hill, SC, Grandsons Rick Horne (Amy), James Ray (Cassie), Timothy Ray, Kyle Eubanks, Granddaughters Lindsey Smith, Elizabeth Ray, and Heather Page (Darryl), 12 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by; husband Lesley O. Perkins; son Timothy Wilson Ray; grandson Daniel Ray; granddaughter Crystal Catalina; great-granddaughter Victoria Horne; brother Phillip Griffis; and sister Billie Jones.
Interment will take place at Sandhills Veterans Cemetary, Spring Lake, NC.
