Mr. Tonal L. McLeod, 60, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Tonal L. McLeod, age 60, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He was a native of Hartsville, SC, and attended Darlington County Schools and  Butler High School.

Tonal was a calm, laid-back man who lived his life with quiet strength and humility. He was known for his gentle spirit and easygoing nature, qualities that drew people to him and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life. Tonal worked faithfully at Red Man for over ten years until the company closed. He later maintained his strong work ethic at Sunbelt,  where he worked for more than 15 years. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and UNC basketball.

Tonal was preceded in death by his father, David Simon Sr., his brother, David Brunson, and his sisters, Latrice White and Stephanie McDonald.

Tonal was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Those left to cherish fond memories of him are, his loving wife of over 30 years, Brenda McLeod of Sanford, NC; his children,  Danielle Johnson, Cierra Johnson, Tina Petty (Chris) and LaQuan Thomas; his mother, Carolyn McLeod James (William); his beloved grandchildren, Kierra Allred, Tyiesha Murchison, Jermarion  Lindsey, Rayanna Rives, Christina Pety, Courtney Petty, Adalynn Thomas, Aubrey Thomas and Ava Thomas; his brothers, David Simon Jr., of Florida, Corey Simon, Eric Simon, and David  Hawkins, all of Hartsville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tonal will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his calm demeanor, loving heart, and unwavering dedication to his family.
