Mr. Tom Harris, 78, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at UNC Medical Center Hillsborough, North Carolina.

Mr. Tom Harris was born on August 15, 1946, to the late William Harris and Katie Mae Means. He departed this life on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at UNC Medical Center in Hillsborough, North
Carolina.

“Hey Boo Boo!” was one of Tom’s favorite phrases. He never traveled without his wife, whom he fondly called “Gene.” He loved to walk, dance and listen to his radio. He cherished play-fighting with his stepson Thomas, with whom he shared a unique bond. Tom took pride while engaging in the logging business with his late brother-in-law, Fred J. Sumpter. 

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Timothy Jackson and Earl Sumpter.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Tom, are his wife, Algene Sumpter Harris; his children, William G. Harris and Evelyn Harris (Brad); his stepsons, Conrad Sumpter (Angie) and Thomas Harris (Kim); his grandchildren, Travon Harris, Joshua Harris, and Jada Harris; his step-grandchildren, Collin Robinson and Ciera Harris; his sisters, Willie, Rosa Lee, Kate, Bessie, Merk, and Dorothy; his brothers-in-law, Bernard Sumpter, Michael McIver, Mario Sumpter, and Wonderful Monds; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Sumpter, Carrie Dorsey, Janice Sumpter, Shirley Sumpter, Savanah Jackson, Brenda Sumpter, Constantina McIver, and Sherri Monds; a great nephew who he considered as his little buddy, Julian “Ju Ju;” and a host of other relatives and friends.
