Mr. Thomas Henry Alford, 83, of West End, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Pinehurst, North Carolina. 

Thomas “Sonny” Alford, eighty-three of the Taylortown Municipality of West End, North Carolina, departed this life on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Healthcare and Rehabilitation  Nursing Center in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He was born to the late Reverend Thomas and Susie Lewis Alford.

Thomas, known to many as ‘Sonny’, began his journey at Academy Heights School. He then embarked on a career at Pinehurst Country Club, where he served as a Caddy, enjoying the company of many great golfers. His dedication to work led him to Stanley Furniture Company in West End, where he worked as a Shipping Receiver for an impressive twenty-nine years.

Thomas was a dedicated member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. His quiet but steadfast presence was felt in every role he undertook, always ready to assist where needed. His kind-hearted and giving nature was evident in his regular visits to nursing homes and hospitals, where he always brought gifts and spread joy.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lottie Johnson and Lula Sims.

Thomas was surrounded by love and care from his family and friends. He leaves behind three sisters, Mary Williams of Long Island, New York, Nancy Pollard of Syracuse, New York and Susie Alford of the home; two nieces, Octavia Johnson Purvis and Sonya Pollard; two nephews, Kenneth Williams and Thomas Johnson; special cousins, Ann McAuley and Lottie Mason, his caregiver; and a host of many loving cousins, other relatives and friends, all of whom will cherish the fond memories of Thomas.
