Theodore Kibbe Obituary

Mr. Theodore Louis Kibbe, age 84, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1939 in Vassar, MI to Robert Kibbe and Viola Corkins.

Ted was known to many for his dollar and coin tricks. He also was a man of many catch phrases such as “Don’t take any wooden nickels” or “keep it between the ditches”. He was a Veteran who served in Europe as a Medic in the Army. He notably picked up stakes in Michigan in 1980 and headed south with his family in an RV to find work and ultimately settled down in Sanford, NC. Ted was a hardworking man who simply loved his family.

Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Kibbe and his son, Theodore Kibbe II (Teddy). Ted is survived by his children, Carla Simpson, Theresa Conway, and Patty Benson. He also is survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. He is also survived by his companion Annie Germann.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, Ted would want you to express your love to your family and friends, with a “cold one” if you so choose.

Please keep the family and friends of Mr. Theodore Louis Kibbe in your thoughts and prayers.
