Terry Octavious McCrimmon Obituary

Mr. Terry Octavious McCrimmon, 68, of Cameron, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Mr. Terry Octavious McCrimmon was born on July 9, 1956, to Ellen McCrimmon Brewington and the late Lacy Hugh McCrimmon. He departed his earthly life on September 23, 2024, peacefully at home.

Terry “T-Bone,” as he was affectionately called, was raised in Harnett County and attended Harnett County schools. Upon completion of school, he enlisted in the United States Army, stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. After returning home from the military, Terry worked various jobs, including but not limited to Boise Cascade and the Toyota Dealership, until his health began to decline.

Terry was a faithful Johnsonville A.M.E. Zion church member who enjoyed singing with the Male Chorus and was also their Booking Agent.

Terry thoroughly enjoyed his Gravely 52-inch blade zero-turn lawnmower (his Cadillac). He was an avid WWE Monday Night Raw fan, loved westerns, and rooted for all of the North Carolina sports teams.

Terry loved ALL of his family, but his “grands & great-grands” (as they call him “Bo”) had a special place in his heart.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Lacy, and bonus father, Henry Brewington; two brothers, Lacy Randolph and Ricky McCrimmon; one sister, Margaret Ann Foxx; maternal grandparents, George and Alice Gilchrist; paternal grandparents, Hugh and Ola McCrimmon; and one grandson, Christopher Gilchrist, Jr.

Terry leaves his legacy and memories to be cherished by his devoted wife, Alice McCrimmon of the home; two sons: Christopher Gilchrist (Nikkie) of Charlotte, NC; Dayton Gilchrist of Cameron, NC; two daughters, Teirra Sims (Terrance) of Oxford, GA and Shakita Gilchrist of Cameron; nine grandchildren: Meshia, A’Nyjiah, Niyah, Julian, Dayton, Jr., Jaylin, Elijah, A’Miyah, and Mason; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Zuri; his mother, Ellen Brewington of Cameron; mother and father-in-law, Mary Grant (Codosia) of Cameron; one sister, Ola Johnson (Herman) of Sanford, NC; two brothers, Brian McCrimmon (Rochelle) of Monroe, NC and Corey McCrimmon of Sanford; two brothers-in-law, Kevin Grant (Vanessa) of South Carolina, and Richard Grant of Raleigh, NC; two sisters-in-law, Sharon and Doris Ross, both of Cameron; two maternal aunts, Luvenia Jones of Cameron and Shirley Gilchrist of Spring Lake, NC; one paternal uncle, Lonell Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Please keep the family and friends of Mr. Terry Octavious McCrimmon in your thoughts and prayers.

The family will be accepting visitors starting Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from the hours of 4pm-7pm at 558 Gilchrist Road, Cameron, NC 28326.

Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Sanford, North Carolina.
