Ms. Tanoa Hooker Martinez, 56, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Central Carolina Hospital of Sanford, North Carolina.
Tanoa V. Hooker Martinez, affectionately known as "Tweeny", to her family and friends, was born on September 17, 1965 in Sanford, North Carolina to Betty Hooker and Alfred L. White I.
Tanoa was raised and lived in Sanford, North Carolina all of her life. She graduated from Lee County Senior High School, and after graduation, attended Computer Training School in Washington, DC.
Family and friends were important to her. She was a devoted care provider for her mother during her time of need. In addition, she would help out other relatives and friends when she could. Tanoa never had any children of her own, but watched plenty of children for her relatives and her friends in her community.
Tanoa enjoyed reading and astronomy, which would explain her love for science-fiction movies. But, no matter what was going on with her, she had a smile on her face and kept you laughing. She also loved her cats and could not say no to any strays.
Tanoa was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hooker, and a cousin, Anthony Hooker.
Tanoa is survived by her father, Alfred L. White, I; her loving companion, Angel, of twenty-two years; a sister, Edythe N. White; her nephews, Alfred L. White, III, and Jordan D. Cole; her cousins, Van Michael Watson, Stephanie Hooker, Tjana Hooker, Clintrell Watson, and Cleshonia Watson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Sanford, North Carolina.
