Silvanus Nicquan Verbal

Mr. Silvanus Nicquan Verbal, 38, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Betsy Johnson Hospital, Dunn, North Carolina. 

Silvanus Nicquan Verbal, also known as “Nicky,” was born in Chapel Hill, NC, on November 26, 1984, to Darrell Verbal and Michelle Underwood. Nicky was the second oldest out of six children.

Nicky was a free spirit who loved to joke and have a great time. In his past time, he loved listening to music and working on cars. There was no height or depth that seemed to scare him. He loved a challenge.

Nicky was an active member at Emmanuel Glorious Church of Christ and Mt Carmel. As a youth he loved playing the drums with his uncle Wildred and cousin Chris.

Silvanus Nicquan Verbal (Nicky) was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Johnnie Mae Verbal, maternal grandfather, Willie Steadman, and his maternal grandmother, Rosa Steadman.

Nicky is survived by his father, Darrell Verbal of Sanford, NC, and his mother, Michelle Underwood of Rockingham, NC; two daughters, Jayla Verbal and Naz’jiyah Verbal; his son, Shy’Heim Verbal of Sanford, NC; two brothers, Steven Burch and Darren Steadman both of Sanford; three sisters, Leteta Mckendall (Fred), Parice Womble and Shaniqua Verbal (Dean) all of Sanford; four aunts,Donna Verbal of Atlanta, GA, Joann Jackson (Billy) of Fayetteville, NC, Rosetta Steadman of Sanford; and Sandra Steadman of Sanford; three uncles, Chris Olds (Nikki) of Charlotte, NC, Otis Steadman (Rosetta) of Sanford, and Wildred Steadman (Keisha) of Cameron, NC; a great aunt, Laura Buie of Sanford; nieces and nephews, Tyric, Anasti, Zakaria, Nasir, Deonte, Carson,
Brandon, Senita, Adrian, Miracle and Marod; and a loving host of family and friends.

Nicky had many friends. He didn’t meet a stranger. To know him you had to love him.
