Miss Sierra A'lese McLean, 18, of 14240 McDougald Road, Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Sanford, North Carolina.

Our lives were blessed on September 26, 2001, with the birth of our gift from God - MISS SIERRA A'LESE MCLEAN. She was the beloved daughter of Michael X. McLean and Latishea G. McAuley-McLean of Sanford, North Carolina.

Sierra grew up in Salisbury, NC, where she formed an unbreakable bond with many friends and loved ones.

On September 13, 2005, SIERRA became a member of her family's church, Cameron Grove AME Zion Church, Broadway, NC - and she loved her pastor, Reverend Kenneth Swann! She was involved in Church School, the Youth Ministry, Acolyte Ministry and the Dance Ministry.

SIERRA matriculated through Western Harnett High School, Lillington, NC, where she was involved in art, band, chorus, and welding. On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, she completed her greatest accomplishment by graduating with her high school diploma.

Upon her transition, SIERRA was employed with Zaxby's, Sanford, NC, and BelFlex Staffing - Montaire Farms of North Carolina.

SIERRA was funny, outgoing, and vivacious. Like most teenagers, she adored playing video games, listening to music, dancing, and drawing. She could often be found sketching art. She also loved the outdoors, especially playing basketball and enjoying her dog, Max. Most importantly, Sierra had a deep love for her family and cherished the time spent while playing jokes on each other at family gatherings and during the holidays. SIERRA touched the lives of so many with her brilliant personality and infectious smile.

On Monday afternoon, June 15, 2020, at WakeMed Hospital, Raleigh, NC, we sadly returned our precious gift to our heavenly Father. Her short life with us has left us a lifetime of memories. When you think of our SIERRA, we celebrate the memories of her and cautiously remember that life is fragile and short. SIERRA has left us smiling through our tears.

SIERRA was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Woodrow and Sarah McLean, Theodore and Lucille Gill, Wilbert and Mattie Hill Pearson, and Neal, Sr. and Ollie McAuley; her sister, Tyanna Williams; and her aunt, Marche' McLean.

The sweet, precious memories of SIERRA will be cherished by her parents, Michael X. McLean and Latishea G. McAuley-McLean; two brothers: Ronderrious McAuley (Latifa) and Jeremiah Smith of Broadway, NC; one sister: Antoinette McLean of Sanford, NC; her doting nephews, Elliot and Carter McAuley of Broadway, NC; her nieces, Nadeja McLean, Heavenly Rollins, and Nasir Rollins of Sanford, NC;paternal grandparents: Desi and Virginia Gill of Broadway, NC; maternal grandparents: Macklin McAuley of Cameron, NC and Julia Pearson of Bennettsville, SC; two uncles: Desi McLean of Broadway, NC and Reverend Solomon McAuley of Concord, NC; two aunts: Jennifer Forutune of Sanford, NC and Michelle McAuley of Spring Lake, NC; special cousins: Elease, Tyre' and Kyle; her godparents, Tonya Alese Davis-Thompson, Bobby L.
