Shantal Janai Mason

Ms. Shantal Janai Mason, 43, of Vass, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital of Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Shantal Janai Mason was born on December 17, 1977, to Janet Mason and the late Earl Mason.

Shantal grew up in the Moore County School System and graduated in 1996 from Union Pines High School. Shantal always stayed on the honor roll throughout school. After graduating, she enrolled in Carolina Beauty School in Durham, North Carolina, where she obtained a Certificate and an Associate's Degree in Cosmetology. Shortly after, she enrolled in Wake Tech Community College, where she received an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.

Shantal taught at several Beauty Schools in various counties in North Carolina. She loved to laugh and read. Shantal read many books throughout her lifetime. She was a quick learner and only had to look at a picture one time before doing that exact style on her clients.

Shantal loved The Lord. She attended Jesus Is King of Deliverance Ministries under the ministry of Pastor Virginia King. She also sang in the choir for many years.

Shantal is preceded in death by her father, Earl Mason.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving daughter; Ashoneca Janai King and Ashoneca's sister, Symia Dockery; her mother, Janet Mason; a spiritual mother, Pastor Virginia King; a brother, Andre' Mason;  a dear friend, Devon McCain; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
