Mrs. Ruby Jean (Blue) Yarborough, 75, of Carthage, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in West End, North Carolina.
Ruby Yarborough was born on June 23, 1949, to Annie Jane Blue and Lacey Blue Sr. in Moore County, NC. She peacefully departed this life at the FirstHealth Hospice House on January 25, 2025
Ruby was raised in Moore County, North Carolina. She received her education at Pinckney High School and worked at Proctor Silas for fifteen years. She then worked at Coty for thirteen years. Ruby was a faithful member of the Holiness Church in Vass, NC, under the leadership of Bishop McKeithan. Later, she joined Fellowship House of God in Carthage, NC, under the leadership of Bishop Gilmore, where she played a very instrumental role as a Deaconess.
She was preceded in death by both her mother and father, her brother, Lacey Blue Jr., and her eldest son, Michael “Ming” Gillis.
Those left to cherish wonderful memories of Ruby are her loving husband, William Yarborough; her sisters, Bonnie Brown and Dorothy Blue Lindsey; her two sons, Steven Gillis (Barbara) and Tirrel Gillis (Emily); a daughter-in-law, Mary; her grandchildren, Kristen Jackson, Steven Gillis, Sayvion Gillis, Devonn Gillis, Taqueshia Patterson, Rasheed Gillis, Treniece Gillis, Emanuel Gillis (Steve), Mychel Gillis, Matthew Gillis, Darius Blackhorse, Ethan Blackhorse (Michael), Dominic Gillis, and Carter Gillis (Tirrel); a special niece, Renee Brown (Bonnie); six great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Ruby lived a very joyous life. She enjoyed going consignment shopping and especially enjoyed her outings with her “hunny bun” and loving sister. Ruby brought joy to everyone she encountered. If Ruby were ever a part of your life, she touched you in some way. She was very giving and was always the first to ask how she could help someone in need. She loved her grandchildren with all of her heart and enjoyed attending their many different activities. Ruby also loved fashion. She always ensured she had her hair done, lipstick on, nails painted, and earrings in. Anywhere she went, she was always dressed to the nines. Even though she may no longer be with us on earth, Ruby’s spirit will live on forever in those who loved her most.
Please keep the family and friends of Mrs. Ruby Jean (Blue) Yarborough in your thoughts and prayers.
