Mr. Robert L. Howard,77, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence.

Robert Lee Howard was born to the late Mattie Lee Houser and Woodrow Howard.  He was proceeded in death by two of his siblings Rosie Lee (Turner) Banks (Deceased) and Timothy Howard (Deceased).  Some people knew him as “Slow Poke, Howard, or Howard Howard,” but this gentle giant, was a man of few words.

He carried a warm smile and a laughter that brought joy to those who encountered his presence.  Robert made sure his family did not lack for anything; his work ethic were undoubtedly next to none.  His commitment to service, translated to his dedicated and love for the duty of an ‘usher’ at church. He ushered on his post for many years.

Robert Howard was a man who loved good preaching, quartet music, and the blues.  He retired from trucking but not from living.

His legacy is carried on by those who call him Pops, Da, and Pa: Robin (Sanford, NC), Reggie (Nicole) (Sanford, NC), Patricia (Aldan, PA); and his loving grandchildren: Kiana, Kaelob, Madyson, London, Patrick, Dionna.  He leaves behind a special friend, Faye Monroe.
