Ms. Robbie Lee Hankins, 81, of 805 Saint Marks Ave #4B, of Brooklyn, New York (formerly of Darlington, SC), entered into rest on Friday, July 2, 2021 at her place of residence.
Ms. Robbie Lee Hankins was born to the late Anna Hankins and John B. Williams on November 9, 1939 in Darlington County, South Carolina. She took her eternal rest on July 2, 2021, at her residence in Brooklyn, New York.
Robbie grew up in Darlington County, where she received her education in the Darlington County School System. In addition, she attended Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Robbie left South Carolina and moved to Brooklyn, New Yok. She loved New York, but always came to visit during holidays, summer months, and special occasions.
Robbie was employed by the Department of Social Services as a Data Entry Clerk for over 30 plus years, receiving awards for her work. She would go on to retire and said she was moving back south year after year. Robbie would say, "I'm coming" (We knew she did not want to).
Robbie was famous for her cakes. She got joy out of baking everybody's favorite cake. Robbie would also knit blankets for the new babies. She loved to take pictures but was always behind the camera, taking random pictures of you.
Robbie was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Hankins, her father, John B. Williams, and a brother, Bernice Williams.
Robbie leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Deborah Ervin (Danny) of Darlington, South Carolina; one son, Derek B.
