Mr. Richard Lee Barnes, 78, of West End, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Richard Lee Barnes, 78, of the Eastwood Community in West End, North Carolina, transitioned on October 4, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Richard was born in Rockingham, North Carolina, to the late Charlie Barnes and Cora Lee Grady. Richard attended Academy Heights School and later enlisted in the United States Army. At the end of his enlistment, he was honorably discharged.

He relocated to Westbury, New York, where he began working as a supply warehouse manager at a major supply warehouse. Richard had a truly infectious smile that could light up a room.
He had a generous heart and deeply cared for those around him, making a positive impact on many lives.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Nathaniel (Boone) and William (Felt).

Those left to cherish fond memories of Richard are his brothers, Charles and Fred; his sisters, Agnes and Lynn; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
