Mr. Quinzel Cole, 78 of West End, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Our beloved Quinzel Cole was born on January 1, 1948, to the late Benjamin Franklin and Ruby Mae Cole of Eagle Springs, NC. He departed this life on January 29, 2026, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.
He was the fourth eldest of eight children, five of whom preceded him in death: his brothers, Stephen Harold Cole, Melvin Lee Cole, Steward Reese Cole, and Adolph Junior Cole, and one sister, Wanda Faye Schooling.
Quinzel was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, known best as Papa. He loved his family, NASCAR Racing, and the American NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. He was a devoted member of St. Ruth United Church of God, in West End, NC, under the leadership of Pastor Melvin C. Jones. He loved helping in anyway he could, and did not meet a stranger.
Those left to cherish fond memories of Quinzel are, his loving beautiful wife of 58 years, Betty Monroe Cole; three daughters, Wanda Cole King (Darrell) of Greensboro NC, Sophia Cole
McDonald (Willie) of Augusta GA, and Detri Ann Cole (Redell) of Southern Pines NC; four grandchildren, Taven McDonald (Brooke), Davone’ Leslie, Sanaa Cole, and Zakiyyah King; one great-grandchild, Jordy McDonald; two brothers, Dwight Cole (Cap) of Eagle Springs, NC, and Meshack Cole (Priscilla) of Richmond, VA; one aunt, Donnie Mae Baldwin of High Point NC; a devoted brother-in-law, Ray Monroe; a devoted cousin, Johnny Cole; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored him, as well as many friends who will miss his infectious smile and kindness.
