Mr. Phillip Lee Snipes, 66, of 1402 Boykin Avenue, Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation of Sanford, North Carolina.
Phillip Lee Snipes was the fifth of seven children born of the late Glen Snipes and Doris Snipes on May 24, 1954.
Everyone who knew Phillip called him Phil-Lee. He loved working on cars, being outside, fishing, and sitting around watching western movies. He loved everybody, including his family. Phillip went to W. B. Wicker School. He worked at National Hand Tools and Hallman Foundry for many years.
Phillip has always been known to be small, however his heart was enormous. He was a friend to many and showed up whenever needed. He knew the Bible, and he loved to talk and tell people about the Word of God.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son Damon Snipes (Anita); daughters Ukina Blue and Cynthia Dowdy (James); twelve grandchildren, Dante Snipes, Devonte Snipes, Naquasia Blue, Jarriet Durham, Torrion Blue, Jamya Dowdy, Essence Dunston, Jayla Dowdy, Ethan Brewster, Elijah Brewster, Eva Brewster, and Kiyann Dowdy; a great-grandchild, Kaiser Blue; sisters, Joyce Snipes, Veta Smith (Johnny), Cynthia Smith (George), and Jannie Allen; brothers, William Snipes and Clyde Snipes; an uncle, Haywood Snipes (Barbara); two aunts, Sarah Chesney (Albert) and Ruby Battle (Howard); ten nephews; six nieces; a good friend, Kenny Baker; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
