Pauline (Marks) Upchurch

Ms. Pauline Marks Upchurch, 84, of Cary, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation of Sanford, North Carolina.

Pauline Marks Upchurch was born on September 14,1936, to Paul Vernon Marks, Sr. and Polly Brewington Marks, along with Geraldine Blue and Paul Marks, Jr. in their home. She transitioned from this life to life eternal on November 2, 2020 at Liberty Commons Health and Rehabilitation in Sanford, North Carolina. She was reared by her father and late stepmother, Mrs. Inez Cameron Marks, and her aunt, Mrs. Minnie Marks Southerland.

Historically, Pauline Marks Upchurch, her brother, Paul Marks and sister, Geraldine were the first triplets born in Lee County. She was known by the family as "Lil Gal", was sassy, energetic and hardworking. She was well known in the community. 

Pauline Marks Upchurch attended W.B. Wicker in Sanford, North Carolina. She worked as a domestic as well as a nursing assistant for years doing private duty. She had a passion for taking care of the elderly. She had an in-home daycare for years as she kept a lot of children in her community. 

Pauline Marks Upchurch was preceded in death by; Her father, Paul Vernon Marks, Sr., Mother, Polly Brewington Marks; Stepmother, Inez Cameron Marks; Stepmother Helen Marks; and Three siblings, James Emanuel Marks, William Hunter Marks and Paul Marks, Jr. 

She leaves to cherish her memories; Her sister, Geraldine Marks Blue (John); One son, Ulysses Upchurch, Sr. and daughter-in-love, Antoinette Upchurch; Three grandchildren, Annise Upchurch (Ryan), Ulysses Upchurch, Jr. (Shaquan) and David Upchurch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. 

Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Sanford, North Carolina.
