Ms. Pamela A. Cameron, 62, formerly of Broadway, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Kernersville, North Carolina.
On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the Lord called our angel Pam home to be with Him.
Pam, born on January 3, 1962, in Sanford, NC, was a woman of remarkable academic prowess. She attended Lee County Senior High School, graduating in 1980. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Western Carolina University, where she double majored in Medical Records Administration and Political Science. Her dedication and hard work were further evident in her pursuit of postgraduate education at Wake Forest University, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Pam was a faithful member of St. James Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, NC, where she taught Bible Study. She was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Stars and actively participated in the alumni associations of Western Carolina University and Wake Forest University. Pam was the heartbeat of the Cameron family. She kept us all close by spearheading holiday gatherings and birthdays. Her annual Easter Egg hunts for the younger nieces and nephews were always a hit. She had a special gift when it came to cooking and crafting. The results of both were often displayed at holiday and family gatherings as well as in wreaths that were beautifully crafted to welcome visitors to all our homes. Because she grew up on a farm, her love for the land was a focal point for Pam. Weekly she could be seen planting, gardening, picking up sticks or cutting grass in the yard. Her time in the “Greenhouse” with mom will always be a cherished memory because between Pam, mom and dad they could get anything to grow. Her love for travel was another focal point and she enjoyed traveling all over the world and often took mom, dad and cousin Linda on beautiful excursions. Our annual trips with the “First Cousins Club” were also filled with love and laughter with her biological sisters as well as her first cousins consisting of Chandra, Maureen and Marva.
Pam had a love for sports and knew the stats for any sport and any player at any given time. She was constantly “Trash Talking” with her family members John Jr, Rodney, Roger, and Jamar. Watching NASCAR races with dad was also a favorite pastime. They both could watch for hours especially if Pam’s favorite driver Truex Jr was racing. Pam’s laugh and smile were infectious and she enjoyed teaching Bible study, mentoring to young adults, or just spending time with her “Broadway Girls”. Her love of reading was evident in the extensive amount of knowledge she held. She enjoyed reading any and everything from encyclopedias about world history to cookbooks. She was an advocate for higher education and was always encouraging her nieces and nephews to educate themselves and nurture their interests.
Pam leaves behind her parents, John and JoAnne Cameron of Sanford, NC; three sisters, Vondolynn Ray (Fred) of Fayetteville, NC, Jacqueline Cameron of High Point, NC, and Carol Chapman (Roger) of Sanford, NC; two brothers, Rodney Cameron of Sanford, NC; and John Cameron, Jr. (Marrissa) of Greensboro, NC; five nieces, Brittany, Mardia, Makalya, Maleah, and Destiny; three nephews, Jamar (Shaune), Dwight Jr, and Joshua; four great nieces Kimiyah, Peyton, Mariah, and Melina; five great nephews, Malik, Tyrique, Jakobie, Jalen, and Jaleel; her beloved aunts and uncles, Uncle Frank Cameron, Aunt Sarah Jefferson, and Uncle Robert Earl Cameron all of Sanford NC, Aunt Bobbie Pearson of Philadelphia, PA, and Aunt Bernice Rollins of SC.
