Mr. Orlander Carlos Gettings, 69, of Southern Pines, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Commander, Orlander Carlos Gettings was born on March 2, 1956, to the late Orlando and Alfreda Gettings in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
He graduated from Aliquippa High School in Aliquippa, PA, and Columbia School of Broadcasting in Los Angeles, CA. He was a musician, concert promoter, videographer, and radio disc jockey. He owned and operated Square Biz Record Store, Cold Funky Records, Hype Hop Productions, and Hype Hop Radio. His titles included Owner, CEO, Co-President, Producer, Artistic Director, Lyric Director, Editor, Consultant, Sound Engineer, Publisher, Programmer, Manager, Agent, Mixer, and Songwriter.
Carlos served in the US Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He lived in Los Angeles for most of his adult life and later made his home in Southern Pines, North Carolina. In 2013, he was appointed Commander of the Rufus McLaughlin American Legion Post #177 in Southern Pines, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Beechaum, three nephews, Will, Jovann, and Lindsay, and one niece, Shania.
Those left to cherish Carlos’ memories are, his life partner, Kim Wade, of Southern Pines, NC; two sons, Antonio Williams of Aliquippa, PA and Donte Bostic (Desiree) of New Uncasville, CT; his brothers, Michael Gettings (Patty), Jason Gettings (Janee); a sister, Dorian Gettings of Aliquippa, PA; his grandchildren, Ziah, Ahnaya, Kylee, Myla and Donta Jr. of Uncasville; his extended family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenny and Robin Reels of Mashantucket, CT, Mr. Jason and Dr. Rossi Volley of Valley Forge VA, Jayla and Kairi Volley of Greensboro, NC, Courtney Wade, Nikerria McIntosh, Kamarean Hancock, Mrs. Gay Brisbon and Ms. Dina Wade all of Moore County, NC; his close cousins, Mrs. Jewel Arrington and Mr. Albert Burke of Pittsburgh, PA; PHB4Life, Paul, Danny, Tree, Cubes, and Moe, of Aliquippa, PA; his god-brothers, Peter Barnes, Andrew Herbst, Richard Morley, Moses Small, and Fenton Wilkinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
