Ogletrea McDougald

Ms. Ogletrea McDougald, 90, of Sanford, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Westfield Rehab & Health Center in Sanford, North Carolina. 

Ms. Ogletrea McDougald, daughter of the late George Albert and Essie McLean McDougald, Ogletrea, was born in Harnett count on July 11, 1933.  Our family legend transitioned this life from labor to reward, on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Westfield Rehabilitation Center, Sanford, North Carolina.

Ogletrea, better known as "Glee", received her formal education at the Ridgeway School in Harnett County.  She grew up on a farm.  She had several industrial career jobs which included: Singer Furniture, Spanco Yarns, and Housekeeping.  She had a love for God's creations in which she demonstrated by feeding the squirrels in her yard.  She also had a passion for fishing, gardening, baking, and cooking the tastiest pies.  For relaxation, she enjoyed working on word puzzles.

Ogletrea was a faithful and lifelong member of First Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, Broadway, North Carolina.  She worked diligently in the kitchen where she was known for her delicious sweet potato pies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Essie McDougald, three brothers, and four grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish he memories: three daughters: Ms. Truelessia McDougald and Judy McDougald of Lillington, North Carolina, and Shelia Graham of Spring Lake, North Carolina; one brother: Cornell McDougald; two sisters-in-law: Esther McDougald and Lizzie Mae McDougald; two special nieces: Lisa Cotton of Sanford, North Carolina and Brenda Carson of Durham, North Carolina; two special persons: Reverend Pearson and Janie Pearson; Eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; four godchildren; Stacy Judd, Linda Faye Smith, Debbie Smith, Carolyn Ray Dowdy and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
