Ms. Miranda Renee Griffin, 52, of Carthage, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in West End, North Carolina. 

Miranda Griffin, affectionately known as Renee, was born on April 28, 1972, to the late Hosea Griffin Jr. and Simonia Marie McGilvery. She attended school in Sanford, NC, and was a member of the ROTC program in high school.

Renee was a country girl who loved being barefoot and outdoors, but she also had a girly side. She always kept her hair done and looked well-groomed. 

She was passionate about cooking and  was known for her delicious soul food meals. Renee was the life of the party, enjoying spending time with family and friends. She also loved reading,  writing short stories, and watching Lifetime movies. Renee was a talented hairstylist and enjoyed playing cards, with Spades and Rummy being her favorite games. She cherished her time with  family and was always open to meeting new people.

Renee was preceded in death by her biological parents, Hosea Griffin Jr. and Simonia Marie McGilvery, her sister, Amanda White, and her grandson, Kilam Richmond.

She is survived by her five children, Torey Griffin of Sanford, NC, Simonia Griffin (Justin) of Harnett County, NC, Tamia Richmond (Brenda) of Charlotte, NC, Cynthia and Brittney Richmond, both of Cameron, NC.

Renee is also remembered by her sisters, Melinda Berryman of Vass, NC, Atita Trusell of Sanford, NC and Carrie Trusell of Oklahoma; one brother, Hosea Snipes (Sheree) also of Carthage; her  stepmother, Ellen Susan Griffin; her grandchildren, Khaleal Malik-Ismail, Jahleal Griffin, Journee Davis, Taliyah Faulk, Zatoryan Faulk, and Addison Scotton; her aunt, Cynthia Griffin-Cockman of  Sanford, NC; her uncle, Eddie Griffin Sr. of Cameron, NC; numerous of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of other relatives and friends, who will cherish her memory forever.

The family will be accepting visitors starting Thursday, August 29, 2024 from the hours of 4pm-7pm at 45 Ryan Drive, Cameron, NC 28326.
