Ms. Mira Patricia “Tic” age 62, of Cameron, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at her residence.
Mira Patricia Smith was born on November 6, 1960 at Lee County Hospital to the Late James Roland Smith and Betty Mae Gilchrist Smith.
“Tic” as she was affectionately referred to, received her education at Governor Moorehead School of Raleigh, N.C. where she stayed on campus. Later on she moved to Durham N.C. where she resided for several years until she relocated back home to Johnsonville.
Tic loved her family and was a devoted, loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a gentle spirit and funny to those she felt comfortable around. She was shy, caring, and giving and will truly be missed.
She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Johnsonville A.M.E. Zion Church Cameron NC, where she served faithfully on the Usher Board, Gospel Choir, YYA Choir and Mass Choir. She was also a member of the James Cleveland Gospel Music Workshop of America, Raleigh Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister; Annette Smith Norwood, brothers; Freddie Smith and Johnnie Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son David Michael McGhee, one daughter Tearra Latrice Smith, both of the home; her siblings: Bobbie Jordan, Leon Smith (Rev. Linda), Willie Smith (Rev. Vera), George Smith (Diane) all of Cameron N.C.; Helen Tomlinson (James) Lemon Springs, N.C., Andrew Smith, Sanford, N.C.; Two sisters in law, Veta Smith and Jacqueline Smith; Four Aunts, Ellen Brewington, Lourine Gilchrist, Luvenia Jones and Shirley Gilchrist; Two adopted sisters Jackie Nolan and Jennette Jones; and special cousin and best friend, Gwen Gilchrist; Godson Jeremiah McDougald; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
