Mildred Louise Barnes was born to the late Jessie and Geraldine Porter Barnes on December 1, 1946, in Hertford County, North Carolina. She departed this life on April 4, 2026.

Mildred was raised in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and graduated from Calvin S. Brown High School in Winton, North Carolina. Caregiving was Mildred’s passion.
