Ms. Menyatta Sakeeya McCrae, 51, of West End, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 3, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst, North Carolina. 

Menyatta Sakeeya McCrae, affectionately known as “Me-Me,” was born on January 7, 1975, to the late Jacqueline McCrae Royster and the late Stanley Brown in Peekskill, NY. She moved to  North Carolina in 1985 with her grandmother.

Menyatta entered into eternal life on Friday, July 3, 2026, at FirstHealth Reid Heart Center, surrounded by the love of family.

After attending Pinecrest High School, Me-Me moved back to New York to continue her education at Catholic Charity, where she pursued a degree in Restaurant Management. She then returned  to North Carolina to begin her adventures.

Menyatta became a positive face in her place. Some of them included Magnolia Inn, Basils, Darling House, and Mid Pines Country Club. After challenges stopped her from working, Me-Me devoted her time to nurturing her children and family. Everyone knew to go to Me-Me’s for food and laughs.

Menyatta was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Brown, a brother, Richard Royster, a grandmother, Clara McCrae, an aunt, Sheila McCrae and her uncles, Vincent McCrae, Clyde McCrae,  Eujene McCrae and Jonathan McCrae.

Menyatta leaves memories to be cherished by her children, Mecca McCrae, Montreal McCrae and Mishak McCrae, all of the home, and Bryan Smith (Breanna) of Arizona; three grandchildren,  Layla, Leyani and Legacy Smith, all of Arizona; her mother, Jacqueline McCrae-Royster (Richard) of Ossining, New York; a brother Raymond Royster of Ossining; a sister, Yolanda Felton (Gary) of Laurinburg, North Carolina; bonus siblings, Jovan Smith, Shawntey McCrae, Larry McCrae and Vincent McCrae; two aunts, Sherry McCrae of Pinehurst, North Carolina and Bertha Bynes of  Peekskill, New York; one uncle, John McCrae of Peekskill; two nieces, Dynasty McLaughlin (Lenisha) of Southern Pines, North Carolina and K’Malasty Felton of Laurinburg; two godchildren, TyShawn Alston of Pinehurst and Ka’Niyah Burney of Southern Pines; extended love of friendships, Talibra Goins, Janel Goins, Jamel Goins, Shaun Gilmore, Amy Duberry, Rhonda  Hinton and Aleacia Lambert; and host of other relatives and friends.
