Mrs. Mattie Louise Blue, 90, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at her residence.

Mattie Louise Dukes-Blue was born to the late Cleveland Dukes and Mattie Lou Bernard Dukes on December 19, 1931, in Lillington, North Carolina. Louise had fourteen siblings. Nine brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Three surviving sisters are Frances L. Fellows of Raeford, NC, Velma R. Francis, of Palm Coast, Florida, and Lillie B. Ricks (Willie) of Stockbridge, GA.

Louise married Neil Archie Blue, and to this marriage six children were born: Glenn O Blue, Dorothy J. Blue Wicker, Timothy Blue, and Brenda Blue. Linda and Samuel Blue preceded their parents in death.

Louise leaves to cherish her memories eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; twenty-eight great-great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

Louise professed her belief in the Almighty God early in life. She joined Oak Grove Holiness Church in Sanford, North Carolina, and dutifully served until her health declined.

Many will remember her fondly as quiet, serious, loving, encouraging, strong, wearing hats, and dressing up.
