Mrs. Mary Eunice Cameron, 84, of Lillington, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Central Harnett Hospital, Lillington, North Carolina.
On Saturday morning, June 18, 2022, at 8:30 am, God called his daughter, Mary Eunice Chalmers Cameron, to rest from her labors and escorted her home.
Mary was born on June 21, 1937, to the late Doctor Chalmers and Pauline Pearson Chalmers. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Edwin Chalmers, Doctor Chalmers Jr., Grant Chalmers, Leonard Chalmers, and Thurman Chalmers. On June 23, 2022 her brother - Lermond “Pete” Chalmers gained his heavenly wings and joined her in heaven.
At an early age, she joined Williams Chapel Presbyterian Church, Broadway, NC. Mae Eunice (as she was affectionately called) graduated from Johnsonville High School, Olivia, NC. After graduating high school, she moved to Portsmouth, VA, where she attended cosmetology school. Upon completion of this school, she returned to Harnett County. She married her loving husband of 64 years, Harold Morrell Cameron, on July 15, 1957. To this union, two children were born. She was a charter member of Love Chapter #632, Order of Eastern Star, Lillington, NC.
Mary leaves to morn her beloved memory, her loving husband Harold Morrell Cameron; son, Velenzo Cameron (Eileen) of Lillington, NC; daughter, Dr. Shela M. Cameron, of Randallstown, MD; seven grandchildren, Amekea (Toma) Maye of LaGrange GA, Valinda Vargas of Spring Lake, NC, Jasmine Harris of Tulsa, OK, Jalesha Harris of Renton, WA, Jae Harris of Austin, TX, Montrae and Tyrique Coston both of Randallstown, MD; nine greatgrandchildren, Devean Vargas, Emory Wilkens, Christian Vargas, Shayla Smith, Yamuni Harris, Tamia Maye, Jamyah Harris, Jayden Harris, and Brodrick Johnson Jr.; four sisters, Luvenia Jones of Cameron, NC, Esther Lucas of Sanford, NC, Irene Murchison (Dwight) of Lillington, NC, and Mable Sanders (Joseph) of Cameron, NC; five sisters-in-law, Mammie Chalmers, Betty Jean Walker, and Joyce Cameron all of Lillington, NC, Laura Chalmers Terry of Spring Lake, NC and Cynthia Chalmers of Manhattan, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
