Martasia Shiann Dowdy

Ms. Martasia S. Dowdy, 23, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Martasia Shiann Dowdy “Tasia” was born October 2, 1998 to Larry and Tamekia Dowdy.  She transitioned to her heavenly home of December 8, 2021.  Martasia was born at Central Carolina Hospital is Sanford, NC, she was the baby girl to all of her siblings, but she carried the wisdom of an old soul. 

Martasia excelled academically in her educational studies and was often called a natural born leader amongst her teachers, peers, and family.  Martasia worked previously in the home health field and was an assistant to New Level Taxes, and a young entrepreneur as she was the owner of “Lovely Organics Cleaning” and Lovely Learning Boards where she spent hours creating learning boards for youth. 

Martasia loved God, people, and most of all her heart and “SUN Nature.”  She was a loving, caring, and awesome mother to her son.  Nature was her everything!  Martasia was a joy to be around, she would nourish her loved ones back to health with her loving spirit, attentive ears, powerful prayers, and songs of healing.  She loved her family and friends genuinely. 

Martasia was preceded in death by her oldest brother Desmond Liman Dowdy “Dez”, her maternal grandmother Margaret Ann Foxx, paternal grandfather Larry W. Dowdy, God Parents Vanessa Cotten, Lynn and Elnora Petty, and Aunt Geraldine Ann Williams.

Martasia leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: Her mother and father Larry and Tamekia Dowdy of the home, a beloved son Nature Baker, two sisters Crystal Minter of Clayton, NC and Tazmiqua Fletcher of Raleigh, NC; one loving brother Larryk “Ryk” Dowdy of the home; grandparents Teresa Allen, John and Darlene Jackson, (Sanford, NC), Lester and Linda Whitted (Mebane, NC); great grand-parents Ellen and Henry Brewington (Cameron, NC), Alice Williams (Sanford, NC), Juanita Jackson (Cleveland, Ohio); aunts Shamekia Powell, Cotillion Ross, Diann Sololmon (Dwayne); uncles Zacharus Foxx, Lester Whitted, Ali Jackson, and Darrell Williams; nephews Aiden Kellam, Braelynn Council, and Jayden Murphy.  Special Aunts Kim Percell and Lenora Petty; Special Sister/Cousins Chyna Petty, Margrianna Mclean and Dynasty Murphy; Special Friend Gregory Baker and a host of family friends who loved her dearly.

TASIA

Tasia, you were a diamond in the rough, the love you shared was true and tough.
T: is for treasure, one we loved so much, your spirit lives on, but, you no longer we can touch.
A: is for adorn, because the was what we saw; you had a light that shined bright, ever since the day you were born.
S: is for smile, a smile that was so contagious; a smile that we all will miss, and that was what amazed us.
I: is for inspiration, because that was what you gave, and now it will grow with us through “Nature,” your son in which you gave.
A: is for awesome, for that was what you were, your love still lingers on, one we all will share.

Tasia, your spirit will always be with us and “you” we will never forget.  So sleep on our little angel for on the right hand of the Father you sit.  Until we meet again on the other side….
