Mr. Marshall L. McKeithen, 69, of 475 Knight Road, Broadway, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his place of residence.
Marshall Lafayette McKeithen was born to the late John Wesley McKeithen and Nellie McCormick McKeithen on January 18, 1952. Marshall transition from earth to glory on Tuesday morning May 18, 2021 at his home.
Marshall was a fun-loving person that had a great love for antique cars. Marshall loved his family dearly, and his favorite things to do was cook on the grill, invite family and friends over, and talk about the good old days. Family was very important to him.
Marshall attended W.B. Wicker School where he was a student all the way through graduation. To graduate from W.B. Wicker School was always an honor to Marshall. Immediately after graduation Marshall enlisted in the US Army. Marshall served his country with pride for 18 years. After retiring from the military, Marshall served as a Correctional Officer for several years. Marshall later moved back to his hometown of Sanford, North Carolina where he worked with special-needs adults for several years. He took pride in taking his clients to different functions such as wrestling events, which his clients loved. After leaving Sanford and moving to Lexington, North Carolina, Marshall served as a Security Officer with Allied Barton for 5 years. He made many new friends and some became like family. Later Marshall decided to retire and devote his time to family. He then moved to Broadway, North Carolina, where he spent the remainder of his days until his passing.
Preceding him in death is a brother, Artis McKeithen; a sister, Brenda McKeithen Foxx; a sister-in-law, Joyce McAuley; and 4 brothers-in-law.
Marshall leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Shirley McAuley McKeithen of the home; 4 children, Timothy McKeithen (Jackie) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Michelle McKeithen-Black (Anthony) of Broadway, North Carolina, Lorraine McKeithen of Broadway, North Carolina, and Alla Moore (Chuck) of New Jersey; a special daughter that he adopted as his own, Marlene McKeithen Jefferies of High Point, North Carolina; 2 stepsons Toussian McAuley (Jody) and Dirrell McAuley, both of Sanford, North Carolina; seven grands two of them who were special to him (Tim Jr., his first grandson and Dominique his first granddaughter); a brother, Billy McKeithen (Mary) of Raleigh, North Carolina; 2 sisters-in-law, Joanne McAuley Atkins (Al), and Josephine Allen, both of Sanford, North Carolina; 3 brothers-in-law, John Wayne McAuley (Edith), William McAuley (Evelyn), and Clifton McAuley, all of Harnett County; a special brother-in-law and dear friend, John Buie (Connie) of Harnett County; a special plus mom that was dear to his heart since his teenage years, Mrs. Geneva Headen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends that will miss him dearly.
