Mr. Marlon Evanda Spruill, 49, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 15, 2025 at his residence in Sanford, North Carolina. 

Marlon Evanda Spruill of Sanford, NC, gained his wings on December 15, 2025. He was born on November 25, 1976, in Sanford, NC, to Jessie McDougald and the late Linda Spruill.

Marlon graduated from Lee County High School in 1995. He was a hard-working employee at Core-Mark for over 27 years. As a young man, he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and softball,  and he took great pride in being a father.

Marlon was a quiet and humble man whose strength was felt more than it was spoken. A devoted and loving father, he deeply cherished his son and took great pride in always being there for him.  Marlon was fiercely loyal, dependable, and someone you could count on without question. He had a sense of humor that could bring comfort in difficult moments and a way of offering advice that  came from care, patience, and lived experiences. Wanting nothing but the best for those he loved, he guided others with sincerity and quiet wisdom. His love, loyalty, and steady presence will be  deeply missed by his child, family, and friends, but the lessons he shared and the love he gave will remain forever.

Marlon was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Ethel Spruill; his mother, Linda Spruill; and his sister, Miranda Spruiell.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Marlon are, his son, Donovan Spruill and his mother, Shenise, of Charlotte, NC; his father, Jessie McDougald; his brother, Anthony Spruiell (Eliza); his  Fiancée, Sandy Watson of Sanford, NC; three special cousins, Katrina Spruiell, Nikki Brown, and Shanesa White; a special nephew, Eric Spruiell (April); two special aunts, Joyce Pearson and  Patsy Mitchem; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
