Mrs. Margaret (Wright) Jones, 88, of Pinehurst, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in Pinehurst.

Mrs. Margaret Wright Jones was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Southern Pines, North Carolina, on April 29, 1935, to the late Ada Pearl Wright and Frank Wright. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Margaret spent countless hours working in school cafeterias. Many of the hobbies she enjoyed were listening to music, doing crossword puzzles, and talking on the phone. She enjoyed caring for her family and surely didn’t mind putting you in your place. Margaret loved and adored all her nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary and Peggy; four brothers, Wesley, Willie, Phillip, and Jimmy; one nephew, Anthony Wright; and one niece, Cynthia Black.

To cherish fond memories of Margaret are her daughters, Paula Sheppard (Elbert) and Marcenia Wilborn (Thaddeus), both of Southern Pines, North Carolina; five granddaughters; six great- grandchildren; one sister, Carol Jean Black; her “Daja Boo” and “Bianca” who were her heart; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Margaret was greatly loved and appreciated. She will be truly missed by ALL of her loved ones.
