Mr. Marcus R. Collins, 47, of Siler City, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 7, 2025,
Marcus Raynell Collins was born in Maywood, Illinois, on March 17, 1978, to Connie Saddler and Timothy Valentine. Marcus came into this world ready to make it brighter, funnier, and a whole lot more interesting.
If you knew Marcus, you knew laughter. You also knew love. You knew protection. You knew somebody who would check on you, hype you up, feed you, and have you cracking up all during the same visit. He loved music and all sports, and he was well-traveled. But family? Family was his heart. Marcus didn’t just show up for you; he stayed for you. He was the type to ride with you until the wheels fell off, and when they did, he would pick the car up, tuck it under his arm, and keep on walking.
Marcus was a hardworking and determined man who took great pride in providing for his family. After becoming a licensed plumber, he used his drive and dedication to start his own trucking company —a true reflection of his work ethic and perseverance. He faced every challenge with determination and built a legacy rooted in commitment, integrity, and love for those he cared for most. He was a devoted husband whose love ran deep and steady- a true partner in every way. As a father, his heart overflowed with pride and tenderness, and his family was the center of his world, the reason behind everything he worked so hard to build.
Marcus was preceded in death by, his grandmothers, Thelma and Leticia; his grandfathers, Charles and Cleo and Murry Peterson; his aunts, Freda, Vanessa, and Shirley; and his uncles, Charles and Dave.
Marcus leaves behind a legacy of love in his wife, Candace; his children, Marcus Jr., Amir, Ana, Carlos, and Gavin; his mother, Connie; his father, Timothy; his sisters, Latrice (John) Simone, Brandi, and Shanice; his brothers, Dujuan, Timothy, and Marvell; his mother-in- love, Vondella; his grandfather, Roy (Thelma); his uncle, John; his aunts, Denise (Earl) and Michell (Laney); seven very special bonus aunties and uncles-in-love; his nieces, Vershae, Peyton, and Kendra; a whole tribe of cousins, extended family, and lifelong friends who became family.
Marcus was lovingly cared for in his final days by two lifelong friends, Schanyea and Keneshia Johnson, who stood by him with unwavering devotion, and a special cousin-in- love, Chiyako Williams, whose kindness and support carried both him and Candace through this journey.
Marcus wasn’t just someone we knew. He was someone we felt. He made homes warmer, conversations funnier, and life itself a little easier to handle. And though we will miss him every single day, we know his spirit didn’t go anywhere; it’s staying right here with us, in every laugh we share, every hug we give, and every moment we choose love first. Rest easy, Marcus. We’ll carry you with us forever.
Please keep the family and friends of Mr. Marcus R. Collins in your thoughts and prayers.
