Mr. Lafayette LaFontaine Pride, 68, of Southern Pines, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 4, 2024.
Lafayette LaFontaine Pride "Fontaine" was born on January 13, 1956, in Albany, New York to the late James and Bessie Pride. On November 4, 2024, God gently closed Lafayette's loving eyes and whispered, "Peace Be Thine." In addition to his parents, Lafayette was predeceased by his sister Pauline Edwards and his brothers James Pride Jr. and Billings Pride.
Lafayette was educated in the Moore County School system and attended Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. Although he held various jobs throughout his career, he enjoyed working in the food industry. Lafayette was a member of Cornerstone Lodge # 68 in Southern Pine, NC. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Lafayette was aware of his humorous personality and how much he loved to dress. Lafayette made it no secret that he loved spending time with his family, friends, and lodge brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his nephews, Khary Wright (Nytisha) of Raleigh, NC, Eric Edwards of Midlothian, VA, Langston Edwards of Greensboro, NC, James Pride (Beatrice) of Williamsburg, VA, Roosevelt Pride of Goldsboro, NC, and Michael Pride (Diana) of Burlington, NC; nieces, Rose Parks (Carl) of Seven Springs, NC and Cynthia Williams (Christopher) of Goldsboro, NC; brother-in-law, Ronald Edwards of Midlothian, VA; uncle, Johnnie Clark (Wilhelmenia) of Maryland; special cousin, Jacquelyn Monroe of Southern Pines, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
