Mrs. Julene (Hainesworth) Allen, 89, of Southern Pines, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 5, 2026, at her residence.
On March 24, 1936, God blessed the union of Pauline Charles Hainesworth and Willie Hainesworth with the birth of a daughter, Julene Hainesworth Allen.
Known as “Juicy” by many, Julene H. Allen attended West Southern Pines School and later moved to New York with her late husband, Isadore Allen Jr. While residing in New York, they attended True Light Church. After returning to Southern Pines, NC, they became members of Trinity AME Zion Church, along with their four children.
Mrs. Allen was employed alongside her sisters, Hattie Mae Marshall and Helen Frye, at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, NC. She later attended Sandhills Community College, earning her High School Equivalency and a Nursing Certificate.
Julene became employed with Moore Regional Hospital, working on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for many years. She later became a private duty nurse.
In addition to her parents, Julene was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Isadore Allen Jr., her siblings, Ernest Hainesworth, Robert Hainesworth, Eugene Hainesworth, Eldridge “EL” Hainesworth, Harry Hainesworth, Thomas Earl Hainesworth, Hattie Mae Marshall, and Helen Frye.
Those left to cherish fond memories of Julene are, a sister, Dorothy Highland of Georgia, whom she adored and loved dearly; four children, Anthony Tyrone Allen (Claudine), Teresa Allen-Johnson, Cynthia Allen McDougal and Cheryl L. Allen; eight grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She loved everyone; family was a strength
