Mr. José Alberto Murcia Portillo, 72, of Southern Pines, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.  

José Alberto Murcia Portillo, our loved one and family man, passed away peacefully in Southern Pines, North Carolina, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in San Salvador, El Salvador, to the late Leonarda Portillo Cardona and Nicolas Murcia. José was the youngest of seven siblings, the late Julian, Carlos, Amanda, Leticia and Ricardo.

José immigrated to the United States and worked at the Bose Company in Massachusetts before retiring. He was known for his hard work and dedication and he also earned the respect of  colleagues and friends.

A devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, José filled his family’s lives with love and shared countless joyful memories. His warm spirit will be profoundly missed.

He is survived by his only sister, Maria Consuelo Murcia Portillo; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. May his legacy of love and resilience forever endure in our hearts.

Rest in peace, José. ¡Descansa en paz!
