Mr. Jaylen Latrelle Routt, 20, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 1, 2023 at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Jaylen Latrelle Routt, son of Wilmetra Woodard and the late Brian Kelly, was called to eternal rest on Friday, September 1, 2023, in the wee hours of the morning.
Jaylen graduated from Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Although his time on earth was shortened, he brought joy into the lives of his family and friends. His smile would light up the room.
Jaylen (aka Jay, Sonny Boy, and Pay Routt) loved the game of basketball. He played with several AAU Teams, traveling to different states to compete. Jaylen also played recreational and middle school basketball. According to his mother, he was very good at it.
Jay liked playing video games and entertaining with his nieces and nephews. He will truly be missed. Jay was a very intelligent and gifted child.
Jaylen was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Delbert Hoose.
Jaylen leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Wilmetra Woodard and step-father, Darren Woodard; his sisters, T’Asia of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Krishana Perry (JoHoarce) of Atlanta, Georgia, Nylece of Harrisburg,Chanell of California and Lajanae of Kentucky; a brother, Quan of Tennessee; four step-brothers, Deonta, Davaris, Darren Jr., and Donnavan all of Wilson, North Carolina; his maternal grandmother, Linda Hoose; his paternal grandmother, Beatrice Kelly; one uncle, Luis Hoose; his nieces and nephews, Aniyah, Naziyah, Brooklyn, Kyla, Kori, Zakhi, Dallas and Houston; a special friend, Khamarli and Baby Gianni (AKA Street); and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
