“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge shall
give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Deacon McCrimmon was preceded in death by his son, Michael Byron Elliott, and two brothers, Louis and David McCrimmon. Deacon McCrimmon, or “Whimpy” as we all knew him, was a quiet storm. He was always willing to do what he could for anyone without making a fuss about it; “I just do what I can.” Those characteristics and faithfulness made him a lifetime Deacon at Frye’s
Chapel FWB Church. He held other positions when deemed necessary, continuing to live up to his calling by doing the work of the Lord.
Deacon McCrimmon leaves to cherish his memory a son, Edward Kelly (Linda); six grandchildren, Edward Kelly Jr., of Pinehurst, North Carolina, Timothy Lee Kelly (Rasheda) of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Edmund Kelly (Felicia) of Raeford, North Carolina, Alexander Morrison (Tarsha) of Vass, North Carolina, Andrea Kelly of Pinehurst and Khalid Gadison Kelly of South Carolina; seventeen great-grandchildren; twelve great, great-grandchildren; four nephews, Nathan Thompson of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Arthur McCrimmon of Greensboro, North Carolina, James McCrimmon of Vass and David McCrimmon Jr., of Chandler, Arizona; one niece, Yolanda McDaniel of Hinesville, Georgia; a special friend and angels, Odessa Elliott of Carthage, North Carolina, Mary Rogers, Mary Clark, and Sallie McCrimmon, all of Vass; and a host of other family members and friends.
