Hosea Griffin, Jr

Mr. Hosea Griffin, Jr. 66, of 611 Lamms Grove Road, Carthage, North Carolina entered into rest on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at his residence.  

Hosea was born on March 4, 1954, in Sanford, North Carolina, to the late Hosea "Buddy" Griffin Sr., and Ruth Mae Martin-Griffin, both of Sanford, North Carolina.

Hosea attended school in Sanford, North Carolina. After school, he joined the United States Army. At a young age, he became a Brick Mason, working between Lee Brick of Sanford North Carolina and Cherokee Brick of Moncure, North Carolina.

Hosea was an ol' country boy. He enjoyed fishing and repairing lawn tractors until his health started to fail in July, 2015. Hosea loved his John Deere along with anything that required him to go outside; this was right up his alley. Hosea was the typed of person who would give you the shirt off his back when someone needed it.

Hosea was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Amanda White.

Hosea leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, whom he loved very much, Ellen "Sue" Griffin of the Home in Carthage, North Carolina; his baby girl, Courtney Frye (Jermaine) of the home, Hosea Snipes (ReeRee) of Sanford, North Carolina, Miranda Griffin of West End, North Carolina, Melinda Berryman of Vass, North Carolina, Carrie Trussell of Sanford, North Carolina and Atita Trussell of Sanford, North Carolina; a brother, Eddie Griffin Sr., of Cameron, North Carolina; a sister, Cynthia Cockman (Willie) of Sanford, North Carolina; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a very special person, Amanda Hooker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
