Mr. Henry Lewis Martin, 85, of Goldston, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his residence.

Henry Lewis Martin, son of the late Thomas Martin Sr. and Pauline Emma Palmer Martin, was born on January 7, 1940. He transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his  home.

Henry was educated at the Chatham County Colored School. In 1950, he married Dorothy Goldston of Pittsboro, NC. To this union, two children were born. A daughter, Kimberly Yvette Martin  Headen, preceded him in death. 

Henry was employed at Harris Pulp Wood Company, driving trucks, until his retirement. Later in life, he started working in his garden. He also loved to hunt. At an early age, Henry joined Roberts  Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Goldston, NC. 

In addition to his parents and a daughter, Henry was also preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Bland and Rosa “Teen” Hill, and a brother, Thomas Martin Jr.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Henry are, his wife, Dorothy Diane Martin of the home; one daughter, Teresa E. Smith (Harry) of Goldston, NC; three grandchildren, Shannon and April  Brown and Brooke Headen, all of Goldston; five great-grandchildren; three nieces; seven nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
