Mr. Henry Bowe Sr, 60, of Carthage, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 5, 2026 at his residence.

Henry Lee Bowe was born in Moore County, NC, on April 7, 1966, to Elizabeth Johnson Bowe. Henry, also known to some as “Shorty,” transitioned from his earthly home in Carthage, NC, into  eternal rest on June 5, 2026.

Henry loved his family and would do anything for them. He would show up at any time for the ones he loved. Showing up for people & hugs was his love language. 

Those left to cherish fond memories of love are, his mother, Elizabeth Johnson Bowe of the Taylortown Municipality in West End, NC; a daughter, Elizabeth Bowe of Capitol Heights, MD; two sons, Henry Bowe Jr, (Jenna) of Carthage, NC; Lee Bowe of Carthage; a bonus son, Delaney Jackson; two bonus daughters, TyAngela McAllister and Tyrika McAllister; his siblings, Calvin Johnson, of  Charlotte, NC, and Janice Bowe, Jesse Bowe (Crystal) and Evelyn Richards (Steve) all of Taylortown; five grandchildren; an honorary daughter, Mia Brower; an honorary son, Zyon Chavis; two  forever friends with unbreakable bonds, Crystal and LaTonya; two close friends, Quick and Chris; one dear mother-in-law, Maxine; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Henry grew up in the projects of Southern Pines. He graduated from Pinecrest High School and drove school buses while still enrolled. After graduating, he went into the Army. He worked with the Town of Aberdeen, Triangle Ice (Reddy Ice), FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, and other long-distance truck driving companies, and his last position, which he held for more than 10 years, was
with the DOT.

He enjoyed long-distance trucking, cleaning cars, cooking, and coaching youth sports. Henry enjoyed talking, joking, and laughing. He never met a stranger. He was known to take spontaneous  trips to the beach. Even though he didn’t care for being outside or in the water, he went for the peace it gave him. Overall, he was a simple man with a newfound “addiction” to shopping on Temu.  Above all, Henry loved the Lord.

Gathering with family and just sitting around laughing and talking was a tremendous joy to him. His laugh and life lessons will forever be in our hearts.
