Mrs. Grace Lane (Spencer) Moore, 82, of West End, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in West End, North Carolina.
Grace Lane Moore departed this life on September 26, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born in Engelhard, NC, on July 27, 1942.
She met the love of her life at Davis High School and was married to Allen W. Moore on December 7, 1957. They moved to Moore County, NC, and lived in Taylortown, NC, and the Jackson-Hamlet and Eastwood communities, raising five children. Grace was a homemaker and held various small jobs while always recognizing her role as a devoted wife and a loving mother.
Grace accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age. She was a fierce soldier for the Lord and a remarkably talented singer, performing throughout parts of the United States with the Jones Temple Revival Center. Her passion and talent were evident in her several earth-shaking renditions of the song “I Must Tell Jesus,” which she also recorded with the late Reverend Arvetra Jones, Sr. She served at Holy Temple Church in Carthage, NC, where her husband was the pastor for over twenty years.
Grace was preceded in death by her mother, Icy Young Spencer, her father, Clossie Spencer, her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Howard and Maggie Spencer, and her brother, Lancy Spencer.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 60 years, Allen William Moore; her daughter, Gracie A. Williams (Bobby) of Harnett County, NC; her sons, Ricky A. Moore (Michele) of Moore County, NC, Ronnie W. Moore (Tina) of Lee County, NC, Titus J. Moore and Robbie T. Moore (Marinilza Guimaraes Rosa), both of Wake County, NC; six sisters, Mary Brown, Cora Bryant, Lula Spencer, Mattie Gibbs, Irene Spencer, and Cary Johnson; two brothers, Larry Spencer and Clossie Spencer Jr.; her grandchildren, William Moore, Katrina Harris, Mantashia Ingram, Shanesha Ingram, Tytiera Norris, Yuri Moore, and Aya Moore; great-grandchildren, Jayden Scott, Janiyah Scott, Karmen Scott, E’lan, Annalise, Paris, Noah, and Levian Ingram; step-grandchildren, Camisha Ingram, Frankie Stoney, Yago SolBoudox, AerNiyah, and Camille Ingram; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
