Glenn Franklin Lebby Obituary

Mr. Glenn Franklin Lebby, 71, of the Taylortown Municipality, Pinehurst, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Carolina Rehab of Cumberland in Fayetteville.

Glenn Franklin Lebby was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina, on September 4, 1952. He departed this earthly life on November 27, 2023.

His loving wife, Amethyist Romel Lebby, preceded him in death, as did his parents, Hubert Walker and Janie Lebby Walker.

Affectionately known as Lebby, he was raised in Marston, North Carolina. He met the love of his life, Romel, in Moore County, North Carolina. They were both devoted members of Galilee Baptist Church for many years, where Lebby was ordained as a deacon.

Lebby enjoyed being a member of the Masonic Organization and fulfilling his obligations to the community. Lebby was a retired truck driver who often spoke of his love for the open road and early mornings.  He was a very “time-oriented” person. If he said he was going to be at the house at a certain time, just expect him to be thirty minutes to an hour early. But that taught us that he would always be there for us when it counted.

Lebby was courageous, resourceful, and always had a nugget of wisdom or a joke. He loved to laugh and visit as many friends as possible and strived to live a godly life each day.

Lebby leaves to cherish his memory his children, Denver McFarland (Felicia) of Raeford, NC, and Thaise Williams and Tavion Lebby both of Southern Pines, NC; six grandchildren, Abria McRae, Jamarie Williams,Tristan McFarland, Tamarion McRae, Evan McFarland and Ahmie McRae; a sister, Patricia Dawkins White (Harry) of GA; his brothers, Robert Dawkins Jr. (Frances) of GA, Michael Dawkins (Freeda) of NC, and Reginald Dawkins (Veda) of GA; three brothers-in-law, Andre McFarland (Judy), Parker McFarland (Edna), and Corey McFarland (Sharon); three sisters-in-law, Glenda Person (Tim), Tanya McFarland, and Tia Brown (Gerald); a loving and dear friend, Angela Alford; and a host of other relatives, family and friends.

Please keep the family and friends of Mr. Glenn Franklin Lebby in your thoughts and prayers.

Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Southern Pines, North Carolina.
