Mrs. Glenda Mae Jeter, 65, of Cameron, NC, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Lee County in Sanford, NC.
Mrs. Glenda M. Johnson Jeter was born to the late Clemmie and Bessie A. (Kearse) Johnson on June 1, 1954, in Georgia.
Glenda was a very loving wife, mother, sister and aunt. She had a big warm smile and a honest heart, always showing love to everyone she met. Glenda was a beautiful woman of faith and she loved the Lord. She will forever be missed by those that loved her.
At the age of twenty, Glenda moved to Oakland, California, after she finished with the Job Corp in Louisville, Kentucky. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant at Alameda County Hospital as well as an in-home aide. Glenda also was a Youth Counselor at Brookfield Community Center in East Oakland, California. Glenda enjoyed spending time with her family, drawing, cooking, baking, music, sewing, making wreaths, and attending church. Glenda later moved to North Carolina to be closer to her family. Glenda found love and married Clarence Jeter. In her new journey, she became a pillar of the Green Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in 1995 as well as being a homemaker.
Glenda was preceded in death by two of her siblings, Larry and Patricia Johnson.
Glenda leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Clarence Jeter; children Joseph Ejefor (Sarah), Lynell Simmons, Tyree Simmons; two stepsons, Terence Rogers, and Clarence Hunter; siblings, Clemmie Johnson, Jr. (Patricia), Bennie Johnson, Floyd Johnson (Debbie), Joseph Kearse, Bruce Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves to cherish her memory, five sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law.
