Freddie Allen Obituary

MR. FREDDIE KOOLIE ALLEN, was born to the late
Charlie D. Blue and Lelia Harris Blue on December 8,
1955. He traded time for eternity on Friday, August 9,
2019 in Silver Springs, Maryland.

Freddie graduated from Sanford Central High School in
1974 where he then enlisted into the US ARMY and served
until 1976. He received his higher education from Central
Carolina Community College. He was reared under the
tutelage of his grandfather, Elder John Henry Blue at The
New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Sanford, NC. Freddie was full of wisdom
and solid counsel. He used the ups and downs of his life as a tool to shed light in
the lives of others. His cool, calm and collect personality allowed him to
encounter and be received by many different people from every walk of life. After
his relocation to Maryland, Freddie was afforded the opportunity to be a
counselor and mentor for AA meetings, helping others get their life back by the
words that he spoke. Freddie was an African American activist covering various
areas of activism; but primarily focused on those who have been historically and
currently fighting racism against African Americans.

Freddie enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, cooking and spending time with
his family. He never let his siblings forget that he was the oldest. He often
reminded them “I’M THE OLDEST...I used to feed you, burp you and change
your diapers”. Freddie loved to read and was an avid reader of The Word of
God. He truly loved his family, and always wanted to make sure His Mom was
alright. He had a heart of Gold and will be missed by all who loved and knew
him.

Freddie was preceded in death by his father, Charlie D. Blue; paternal
grandparents, Elder John Henry Blue and Lula B. Blue; maternal grandparents,
Quintillious Harris and Florie Purcell Harris; sisters, Lanita Blue McCormick
and Melah LaTosha Blue.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Nicole Baker; granddaughters,
Chasity Jennings and Serenity Reid; mother, Mrs. Lelia Harris Blue; siblings,
Toi Blue (William Ray), Dr Grant (Dr Joyce) Blue, Sonya “Deneen” Blue,
Derek “Ricky” (Adrienne) Blue all of Sanford, NC and Chris (Rosa) Blue of
Vass, NC; brother in law, Ervin McCormick; special aunt and uncle, Steve and
Pearline Walden; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including a
very special friend, Angela Bumbrey.
