Ms. Eva Mae Dockery, 80, of Maxton, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg, North Carolina.
Mrs. Eva Mae Leach Dockery was born on August 12, 1941, in Scotland County, N.C. She was the youngest of eleven children born to the late Willie and Elevena Leach.
In her youth, she moved to Southern Pines, North Carolina, where she later met and married Robert Dockery. From that union came eleven children: Linda Cutchin, Eleanor Wesley (John), Garry Dockery, Evelyn McRae (Charles), Dennis Dockery (Cheryl), Larry Dockery (Sheila), Bryan Dockery (Kim), and Melanie Rogers (Eddie). Three Children preceded her in death: Robert Dockery Jr. (Ethel), Marcus Dockery, and Stephanie Dockery.
Eva Mae was a homemaker who loved cooking for her local and extended family. Football season was one of her favorite times, and game night was an event. She enjoyed her Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Tarheels. She was also no stranger to a fishing pole; another pass times, she enjoyed along with eating her catch.
Eva Mae was predeceased by her siblings: Eloise Jackson, Edith Edwards, Luevena Spears, Henry Leach, Thomas Leach, James Leach, Onettia McNeil, Ben Leach, Willie Pearl, and Roy Leach, and longtime friend Joe Cagle.
Eva Mae left indelible footprints of strength for her children, 27 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren, including her many nieces and nephews to follow.
