Mrs. Eula Mae Davis McMillan, 100, of Southern Pines, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in Pinehurst.
Eula Mae Davis Lockley-McMillan, daughter of the late Alma Davis and Charlie Bridges, was born December 30, 1922, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, where she spent her early years. She grew up with three sisters, Ella, Minnie, and Lucy, and two brothers, Edmond and Johnny.
Eula Mae married Iverson Lockley and moved to Pinehurst, NC in 1940. To this union, five children were born. She later met and married Locke McMillan of Taylortown. To this union, five children were born.
Eula Mae enjoyed and specialized in cooking. She was employed for many years at St. Joseph Hospital, where she prepared meals and helped with other cafeteria tasks. Later, she enjoyed working at Monsieur Henri’s French Restaurant in Pinehurst, serving many tasty dishes. Working for a friend and the owner of Vickie’s Restaurant at the Elks Lodge, she further wowed guests with her cooking skills. Her delicious dishes will be missed by both family and friends.
Eula Mae enjoyed many fun nights of Bingo with friends at the Rufus McLaughlin American Legion Post. She spoke highly of the friendliness of the staff and the good quality of food served there. She spent lots of time babysitting and enjoying quality time with her 31 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
Eula Mae was preceded in death by five children, Edna Gibson, Robert Lockley, Jeanet Taylor, Deloris Brunson, and Joseph McMillan.
Eula Mae leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Mildred McMillon, Bobbie Oglesby (David), Ann Marie McMillan, and Mary Baldwin (William); one son, William McMillan (Linda); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
